2003 Scholarships Awarded

At our quarterly General Membership meeting on May 14th, Keith Shipley, Local 618 President, presented scholarships and certificates to the top three applicants for our annual $500 Scholarships.

To qualify for a scholarship the applicants need to be a member of AFSCME Local 618, or be the child or grandchild of a member.  They needed to complete a 500-word essay "What AFSCME means to me" and a brief statement of their future goals.

Scott Henderson is pursuing an Engineering Education at the University of Colorado, (Boulder);  Krista Campbell is going to study in the medical field; and Karen Bryan-Nielsen is working on continuing education.
