Hands 2003,Bigger and Better
Helping Hands, in its
2nd year, was outstanding!
Three Local 618 families received Thanksgiving Dinner with all the
trimmings. But it didn’t stop
there! Santa and his elves gathered together,
went over the lists, hit the stores, and delivered Christmas to four Local 618
families, making their Christmas brighter than expected. Check out the smiles!
Thanks go out to
many. To name a few: AFSCME Local 618 donated $750.00,
Thurston-Lewis Counties Labor Council donated $500.00, Frank Perez (Tilley)
donated $100.00, Victor Berube and Kathy Boysen (both with Thurston County) donated their $30.00
drawing checks, and many Brothers and Sisters donated food, time, and their
vehicles to deliver holiday cheer. And
of course, we can’t forget Santa – Mike Gallagher (City of
Hopefully someday in the future, we won’t have Brothers and
Sisters in need. Until then, it does
one’s heart good to see the smiles, and hear to hear thank you, for the little
bit of time and energy it takes to help brighten their holidays.
