Helping Hands 2003,Bigger and Better

Helping Hands, in its 2nd year, was outstanding!  Three Local 618 families received Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings.  But it didn’t stop there!  Santa and his elves gathered together, went over the lists, hit the stores, and delivered Christmas to four Local 618 families, making their Christmas brighter than expected.  Check out the smiles!

Thanks go out to many.  To name a few:  AFSCME Local 618 donated $750.00, Thurston-Lewis Counties Labor Council donated $500.00, Frank Perez (Tilley) donated $100.00, Victor Berube and Kathy Boysen (both with Thurston County) donated their $30.00 drawing checks, and many Brothers and Sisters donated food, time, and their vehicles to deliver holiday cheer.  And of course, we can’t forget Santa – Mike Gallagher (City of Olympia).

Hopefully someday in the future, we won’t have Brothers and Sisters in need.  Until then, it does one’s heart good to see the smiles, and hear to hear thank you, for the little bit of time and energy it takes to help brighten their holidays.

Thanks again to all…
